Mark+Marlee - Dallas, TX
Friends, I suck at blogging. Especially during busy season, that is the first thing to totally leave my mind in order to have time to keep up with editing, emails and sleep. So before fall wedding seasons truly takes over my life, I wanted to get a new blog up. This is from the end of July and dang it was a fun one.
Mark and Marlee had a church ceremony and then a ragerrrr party at The Carlisle Room in Dallas on a super hot day (July in Texas…you get it). I originally met them through advertising on The Knot but two of my former clients were also Marlee’s friends, which I love!. We hit it off quickly and I got to see in our Engagement Session that Marlee is the sweetest, cutest thing ever and Mark is so full of life and will do anything for a laugh (especially Marlee’s laugh).
There were so many sweet, personal touches throughout the day touches. Things like Marlee’s mom surprising her with a video of her as a little girl talking about her future wedding with her grandmother (tears), Mark taking a lap around his Bride during their First Look so he could take it all in, a big family prayer during the ceremony and, OF COURSE, the Groom’s cake was a replica of his beloved FJ Cruiser.
More importantly - Mark’s personal trademark is bringing glow sticks to every (EVERY) wedding he attends, so the main point of their reception was to make that room GLOW. The ice cubes glowed, the bracelets glowed multiple colors, there were hundreds of glow sticks literally being thrown around the room and Mark even brought in his own colored lights to take things one step further. When I say the dance floor stayed full, I mean it was FULL until the DJ had to FORCE people to go line up with sparkers so the Bride and Groom could leave. This was a party no one wanted to end!
Thankfully, I get to count these cuties as friends now!
Now go enjoy their awesome wedding!
